What the book is about:

Alan John Peterson is the definition of platitudinous. With his tall, slim fingers and brown eyes peering over thick black glasses, he is the most humdrum man youll ever meet in the dreary city of Blandford. He lives in a plain beige apartment and works at a banal filing office—just like every other soul in that dull village. But then, the unthinkable happens. The Work Force didn't prepare him for this. He tries a boiled egg. Its all because of Blue. Shes a woman who believes mother natures love is the ultimate currency—and considering shes never had a real job, shes clearly playing by her own rules. Id tell you her whole life story, but frankly, I just dont have the ding dang dong time for it! This is a story of metaphors within metaphors. Or maybe its just about 6-year-old gremlins. Who knows? The Moral (Pick Your Favorite): Wrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it. Right is right, even if nobody is doing it. Be yourself no matter what. Just because everyone else in Blandford is jumping off a beige cliff doesnt mean you have to. Look, theyre all good metaphors. Pick one you like and go with it. I really don't care anymore! Good riddance to Blandford and wherever else! See ya! (Or not!)
